This underlines the importance of IT systems in business because it affects productivity and efficiency. Without such systems, productivity will not increase because efficiency will always be lacking. They were asked about their opinions on how the companies they chose were effective in their abilities to deploy IT-related commercial capabilities for their company’s competitive advantage.

Successful Companies Using IT

Among the companies that were listed by these senior business executives were firms that are well-known, well-established, leaders in their industries and have been in the business for several decades. Among the companies in the list are: Apple, Amazon, General Electric, Google, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Toyota, Procter & Gamble, IBM, JP Morgan Chase, Nestle, Mayo Clinic, and Wells Fargo.

Top Companies That Should Use IT

It is to be noted that among the companies that the CEOs and senior executives have listed, there are established and well-known companies that were not included. Perhaps these CEOs and senior executives know that these companies that are absent from the list are not really using IT systems in their operations.

Whatever the case may be, it is to be noted that the following top companies will even do better if they deploy an appropriate IT system in their operations. These companies may include General Motors, Chrysler, Isuzu Motors, Chevrolet, Johnson & Johnson, Samsung Electronics, Bank of America, Royal Dutch Shell, Alphabet, Wal-Mart Stores, Chevron, Novartis, Alibaba and many others. It can also be assumed that these big companies may now be using their own IT systems. But the fact that is: they were not included in the original list that resulted in the survey of the CEOs and senior executives.

Top Companies Use Of IT Is Customer Driven

The 2012 survey also revealed that the senior executives and CEOs were impressed by the fact that the top companies have used their IT systems to improve their customer relations. They were impressed by the way the top companies use of CRM or customer relationship management, their product offerings and design, their standardized, unified and integrated IT process framework and organization and customer-facing IT. The top companies have also proven their ability to manage and control complicated e-commerce platforms and systems, to innovate faster, and to support and sustain multichannel management. How Businesses Can Use IT Systems To Succeed

There are two ways in which commercial enterprises could use IT systems to succeed.

 1. Businesses should consider that their IT systems can be used for branding and recruitment. IT systems can help develop new markets and solve issues with customers. If their efforts are successful, they can use these successes to recruit more workers that will operate inside this business climate. Many of the top companies are using this method to drive their recruitment process for systems integration experts, cloud computing, and analytics.

2. Businesses should not ignore the disruptive capacity of mobility and cloud computing to re-establish enterprise systems faster. In other words, the IT departments of companies should not be complacent, but be very responsive and active to the developments and changes that happen every day in the information technology industry.
