GHAZNI CITY: A US soldier converted into Muslim after he put the Islamic teachings under scrutiny in the southern province of Ghazni, where his name was changed into Abdullah, an official said Tuesday.
The officer was deputy commander for a US forces headquarter in Gilan district of the province, where the district chief, Mahbobollah Sabawon said he was from the US Karakas state.
Few years ago, two US soldiers had also embraced Islam in the same province, where their Afghan interpreters may have played the key role for changing their faith.
