The legendary Moin Akhter; Artist of Sub continent

Artists are the global citizens; they can represent everyone. They are free souls without boundaries controlling them. They can make people smile, cry, laugh, dance, sing and live. The difference between an artist and an ordinary human being is that an Artist lives many characters around him. When he plays a character, he is actually living that character. Very few have this characteristic of individualization and Moin Akhter  was the master of individualization and stylization; two dimensions of acting. This can be seen in his stage shows, dramas and comedy shows. Moin Akhter was a Pakistani stage, film and television artist, comedian, humorist, impersonator, writer, singer, host, director and producer.

The legendary Moin Akhter has been trending on social media recently and Indians are all praise from fans to celebrities. By playing different characters in almost 400 episodes of ‘Loose talk’ aired on ARY digital in 2005, he won the hearts of fans across the border. Script written by Anwar Maqsood covered almost every social and political issue. They discussed every aspect of life from an ordinary marriage ceremony to Pakistan India relations. You will forget people mimicking Donald trump after watching Moin Akhter as Manmohan singh.  So much humour, so much wit but no hate, So much political talks but no abuse, so much cross boundary conflict but no disrespect, So much fun without a single beep. Serious onscreen faces were making people laugh behind the screen. No social media accounts but they had fans from across the world. They used wit, comedy and humour in a very sensible way. Moin Akhtar some youtube videos are so famous that some are crossing 2 and 5 millions views and one video specially went viral that till date it has more than 14 million views on Youtube.

Indians had been enjoying his shows since 1970 in the form of cassettes and pirated CDs. People living near Punjab Border were more privileged to catch his shows on their television sets.

Moin Akhter also played iconic roles in Rosy, Half Plate, Fifty Fifty, Family 93, Angan Terha, Haryale banney and Rafta Rafta. He introduced Dilip Kumar in his show as having all the five characteristics of an actor; Action, collaboration, tone, oration and rhythm. When we put a glance at the glorious career of Moin Akhter, we find him one having all these characteristics of an artist. He played the role of Shylock from Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare at the age of fourteen during his school days. He himself admitted that he was God gifted. He received Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Pride of Performance award for the recognition of his work. Legendary Moin Akhter set an example of excellence in the world of Acting. It takes consistency, courage and hard work to be a legend.
