The Fight against the Pandemic in Pakistan, Under the Regulation of SOP’s

As the graph in number of cases is spiking up, the policies and action plans taken by the government are almost covering each sector with stringent measures to restrain and contain the spread of infection. In Pakistan the majority of initial cases were traced from Iran, but now local transmission has become a considerable challenge like rest of the world. As the country has entered the phase of smart lock down, in regulation of the action plan, the SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedure) have been strictly made compulsory and ensured to be adapted with urgent responsibility.

It’s possible in a better way to keep things operational in accordance with the rules set by the government. Whatever the sector is either it’s trading, construction, industrial, local markets to small shops or transportation there are some specific measures which are almost similar to each everyone.

As the country is also facing economic challenges, so, in this case following the SOP’s and precautionary measures is the best possible option to keep things running in a proportionate balance. As per National Action Plan first and the foremost priority is that both the federal and provincial governments involve to give a robust response through maximum efficient preparedness. At this time a coordinated, joint multilateral approach is a statutory requisite.

The call of protecting both i.e. the people as well as the economy has now become a simultaneous need. In a situation like this where things are a bit uncertain the government’s response can be changed at any time if the situation seems lopsided. The priority is protection with precautions.

The reopening of industries and other trading sectors are allowed only if they follow SOP’s. Some of the very basic but very compulsory requirement are the foremost adaptations whereas leading to more strict guidelines where the situation demands it necessary.

As per guidelines the staff should wash hands frequently or use 70% alcohol based sanitizers. Allowing only those people to enter who are not having any kind of infections specially cough, flu, and fever. Overcrowding is not allowed. Ensure the que control and to stay alert in any emergency situation. The store manager and staff shall remain updated to any new guidelines issued by the government.

The business lying under same category for example textile related are clubbed together allowing to operate under the instructions while the other categories of trade will be functional as per accordance. Not only in terms of trading businesses same goes for transportation sector including public transport, like how and when will they operate even with total number of passengers in per ride. The schedule of flights operation as well as railway transportation has been taken under consideration. Each sector is allowed to operate within the hours as per set by the government, given that under the regulation of SOP’s otherwise no permit action would be reserved. As being a responsible individual it is the duty of everyone to follow these rules and guidelines.

In response to the pandemic as the government working with multi-faceted approach it’s not only the government’s duty, instead in a situation like this everyone should adopt a rational behavior and take a lead to do well, while ensuring the well-being of the people of Pakistan.
