Sulman Taseer Still Lives

26th governor of province Punjab-Pakistan was killed on 4 January, 2011 in Islamabad by his own bodyguard. His murderer was celebrated as a hero in Pakistan by a particular mentality. Sulman Taseer was accused of blasphemy, which he always denied and strongly asserted that he can never think of such a sin and crime. He was declared blasphemous through various decrees issued by few Molvies and hence, through sheer propaganda and anti-Taseer speeches, a lunatic environment was created against him that finally led towards Taseer’s cold blooded murder. Sulman Taseer was accused of so-called blasphemy by calling the Pakistani blasphemy law, “The Black law”. This Pakistani blasphemy law, according to mainstream Islamic scholars and legal experts, was not only un-Islamic but had plethora of procedural flaws also. Sulman Taseer called blasphemy law, “black law”, since it did not qualify Islamic and legal parameters of justice. Thus, this law was unable to fulfill the legal and Islamic perimeters of justice and it was frequently used as a tool of personal vendetta and victimisation, which Taseer too went through. Sulman Taseer murder was murdered cold blooded and sociopathically this insensitivity was then called religious sentimentalism. After murdering Sulman Taseer, even his dead body was refused to be offered funeral, it was gleed as it was some cannibalistic festival and its festivity.

“And when Our verses are recited to them, they say, “We have heard. If we willed, we could say [something] like this. This is not but legends of    the former peoples. And [remember] when they said, “O Allah, if this      should be the truth from you, then rain down upon us stones from the      sky or bring us a painful punishment. But Allah would not punish them while you, [O Muhammad], are among them, and Allah would not punish them while they seek forgiveness. Say to those who have disbelieved   [that] if they cease, what has previously occurred will be forgiven for   them.” The Noble Quran: 8.31-32 & 38

I prolonged enjoyment for the disbelievers The Noble      Quran: 22.44

Blasphemy Law in Pakistan was misused by so-called perfect, proud, and learned Muslims, who had forgotten that Allah was synonymous to compassion and amnesty i.e.

“And whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness      of Allah will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful.” The Noble Quran: 4.110.

“I will accept their repentance, and I am the Accepting of repentance, the       Merciful.” The Noble Quran: 2.160

What an irony that, Allah, who was always ready to forgive and always tolerated—His believers neither forgave, nor tolerated. The blasphemy law, which was publically stated “unlawful and un-Islamic” by various mainstream Islamic scholars e.g. Javed Ahmed Ghamidi and Dr. Khalid Zaheer, was frequently used as an instrument to saturate personal objectives. Verily and frequently, it was used against minorities as a tool of victimisation, inflicted by religious intolerance, neurotransmitter disorder caused by extreme seizers of hatred and anger (and greed too), biological or acquired sociopathism, and doctored Islam. Such sorry plights created an impression, perceived by other world, that Muhammadian PBUH Islam and its followers were Vladic, uneducated, unjust, illogical, and abnormal (having no sensitivity tantamounted abnormality). Thus, wheresoever it was possible, Muhammadian PBUH Islam was literally uresised and ridiculed by its enemies. Muhammadian PBUH Islam provided safety and security to minorities, which unfortunately was forgotten by so-called Muslims. Forgiveness, tolerance, and magnanimity of Muhammadian PBUH Islam and Islamic view point regarding blasphemy committed by a non-Muslim was well captured by Imam Abu Hanifa who decreed that,

“No non-Muslim will not be killed on the basis of Shatam-e-Rasool. The   crime of shirk that he is already committing, that in itself is a much bigger crime.”

Apart from victimisation of minorities, Muslims were too victimised through blasphemy law of Pakistan. Moving ahead, if Quran, the most read but the most misinterpreted book, was studied and examined carefully ever, then numerous groundbreaking marvels could have been unveiled i.e.

  1. It was Allah’s authority to judge people and even if Allah’s prophet was denied and ridiculed ever, Allah never ordered His prophet to be killing disbelievers on the basis of their denial or mockery of Allah’s message e.g. Quran chapter 7 verses 65-72.
  2. Sin was categorized as personal action e.g. Noble Quran: 4.11, liable for punishment only by Allah, if Allah wanted.
  3. Majority of so-called Muslims believed that association of non-Allah to Allah was unforgiveable sin but, even if one committed the said sin, one’s repentance and apology earned Allah’s forgiveness. Quran provided more than sufficient evidences where people, who worshiped non-Allah, were told be forgiven if they repented and apologised, for example, Noble Quran: 2.54, 7.94, and 7.153.
  4. Allah’s messengers were only warners; they had no authority to punish someone on the behalf of Allah e.g.

“Whoever commits a sin only earns it against him. Whoever opposes the       Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other    than the way of the believers – We will give him     what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination. Indeed, Allah does not   forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills.” The Noble Quran: 4. 111 & 115-116

“O People of the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger to    make clear to you [the religion] after a period [of suspension] of     messengers, lest you say, “There came not to us any bringer of good       tidings or a warner.” But there has come to you a bringer of good    tidings and a warner.” The Noble Quran: 5.19

“(Hud) said: “O my people! There is no foolishness in me, but (I am) a   Messenger from the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that    exists)! I convey unto you the Messages of my Lord, and I am a       trustworthy adviser (or well-wisher) for you”.” The Noble Quran: 7.67-68

“And if they deny you, [O Muhammad] – so, before them, did the people       of Noah and ‘Aad and Thamud deny [their prophets], and the people of    Abraham and the people of Lot. And the inhabitants of Madyan. And   Moses was denied, so I prolonged enjoyment for the disbelievers; then I seized them, and how [terrible] was My reproach. And for how many a       city did I prolong enjoyment while it was committing wrong. Then I seized      it, and to Me is the [final] destination. Say, “O people, I am [Muhammad]     only to you a clear warner.”” The Noble Quran: 22. 42-44 & 48-49

When any messenger of Allah was denied, even in a very insultful manner (i.e. Quran: 2.13 where believers were called “Foolish”), Allah kept his senses, gave disbelievers freedom along with chance to be re-thinking, and warned them of severe punishment. He neither lost His temper where He would start slicing apart the one, who mocked and rejected his message, nor did He ask anybody to be doing so. Furthermore, if any of Allah’s prophets was either mocked or rejected, the messenger wasn’t supposed to avenge his mocker or rejecter since his only duty was to deliver Allah’s message and rest was in Allah’s hands.

Allah always encountered the denial of disbelievers with reason. In addition, both Allah and His prophet after having been insulted by disbelievers (i.e. “Should we believe as the foolish have believed?”), Allah did not entitle disbelievers, killable. Allah’s patience, reason, wisdom, mercy, and logicalism through which He dealt various situations somehow identical (rejection of Allah’s message) to Quran: 2.13-20 e.g.

“Indeed, those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers and wish to discriminate between Allah and His messengers and say, “We believe in   some and disbelieve in others,” and wish to adopt a way in between –     Those are the disbelievers, truly. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment. The People of the Scripture ask you       to bring down to them a book from the heaven. But they had asked of Moses [even] greater than that and said, “Show us Allah outright,” so the thunderbolt struck them for their wrongdoing. Then they took the calf [for   worship] after clear evidences had come to them, and We pardoned that. And [We cursed them] for their breaking of the covenant and their       disbelief in the signs of Allah and their killing of the prophets without    right and their saying, “Our hearts are wrapped”. Rather, Allah has sealed   them because of their disbelief, so they believe not, except for a few.”     The Noble Quran: 4.150-151 & 153 & 155

“And whoever has not believed in Allah and His Messenger – then indeed,      We have prepared for the disbelievers a Blaze. He forgives whom He wills   and punishes whom He wills. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.”   The Noble Quran: 48.13-14.

The very same kind of situation could be seen in Quranic chapter 5 verses 20 to 26, where Moses asked his people to follow his orders that were given to him by Allah but people of Moses rejected Moses to be followed. While seeing this situation, Allah did not ask Moses or someone else to punish those, who rejected Allah’s orders. Furthermore, Moses, instead of avenging disbelievers, prayed to Allah i.e.

“My Lord, indeed I do not possess except myself and my brother, so part      us from the defiantly disobedient people.” The Noble Quran: 5.25

Quran and Islam were the best means to be getting educated, mannered, righteous, compassionate, knowledgeable, philanthropist etc. And after getting educated and advised by Allah, only a mad dog could get strayed. Allah in worst situations never lost His senses and kept His Beautiful Bearings. Quran provided evidences in this discipline i.e.

“O Messenger, let them not grieve you who hasten into disbelief, for     them in the Hereafter is a great punishment.” The Noble Quran: 5.41

“O you, who have believed, do not raise your voices above the voice of       the Prophet or be loud to him in speech like the loudness of some of       you to others, lest your deeds become worthless while you perceive not.

Indeed, those who call you, [O Muhammad], from behind the chambers –       most of them do not use reason. And if they had been patient until you    [could] come out to them, it would have been better for them. But Allah    is Forgiving and Merciful.” The Noble Quran: 49.2 & 4-5

Critical study of Quran disclosed that whensoever a disbeliever repented for his denial of Allah’s message, Allah forgave him even for the worst sins i.e. Quranic verse 54 of chapter 2. Thus, Allah reprimanded only those who kept on denying and ridiculing Allah’s message. Quran provided enough evidences that Allah either forgave or tolerated, which was the beauty of the character of Allah. Now true followers of Allah were supposed to be having the very beauty, which was the very nut and bolt of Allah. But unfortunately so-called Muslims outnumbered true Muslims and made Muhammadian PBUH Islam scarcely found where the very beauty, which was expected in Muslims, perished away immediately. Now if the very beauty of Allah, which was key component of Muhammadian PBUH Muslims, had existed, then various innocent lives could have been saved from getting swallowed up by personal victimisation wrapped with blasphemy law of Pakistan. If opportunities to be seeking apology or rejection of charges were ever provided, then it could have granted beauty of character adorned with guidance, justice and compassion e.g.

“And [recall] when Moses said to his people, “O my people, indeed you have wronged yourselves by your taking of the calf [for worship]. So repent to your Creator and kill yourselves. That is best for [all of] you in the sight of your Creator.” Then He accepted your repentance; indeed, He is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.” The Noble Quran: 2.54

“But those who wronged changed [those words] to a statement other     than that which had been said to them, so We sent down upon those who wronged a punishment from the sky because they were defiantly     disobeying.” The Noble Quran: 2.59

Non-believers would used to make fun of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, but neither Allah nor Muhammad PBUH lost their senses and instead of getting mustangly crazy, both remained calm. Allah dealt this mockery of non-believers in a very beautiful manner and warned non-believers of punishment for their heinous actions i.e.

“O you who have believed, say not [to Allah’s Messenger], “Ra’ina” but   say, “Unthurna” and listen. And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment.” The Noble Quran: 2.104

Ra’ina was an Arabic word means My Shepherd and Unthurna means Once More Please. Mockers would mock Muhammad PBUH by calling him PBUH Ra’ina whilst pretending as they requested Muhammad PBUH to repeat something, which he PBUH said before. Allah directed people to be using Unthurna instead of calling Muhammad PBUH Ra’ina, which was an open insult. Now if Allah had willed, then He could have asked Muhammad PBUH to kill the one, who mocked Prophet PBUH. Treading the God’s way, Muhammad PBUH too never asked anybody to kill such person, who insulted him PBUH by calling him PBUH my shepherd.                                                                     It was a great insult when someone was thrown garbage upon. There was a non-believer lady, who used to throw garbage on Prophet Muhammad PBUH daily. One day when old lady fell ill and garbage wasn’t thrown upon Prophet Muhammad PBUH, he PBUH visited her and having found her ill—Prophet Muhammad PBUH wished her get well soon and nursed her. Prophet Muhammad PBUH, whilst treading on God’s way, always forgave and tolerated that lady, so that, on someday she may embrace Islam by getting impressed by Islam and Muhammad PBUH behaviour. Unfortunately, so-called Muslim never treaded Allah’s and prophetic PBUH ways i.e. wait, forgive, and behave, which was ordered in Quranic verses i.e. 109 & 114 of chapter 2, where believers were advised to be forgiving and stay calm until Allah judged wrong doers,

“Many of the People of the Scripture wish they could turn you back to    disbelief after you have believed, out of envy from themselves [even] after the truth has become clear to them. So pardon and overlook until Allah delivers His command. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.” The Noble Quran: 2.109

“And who are more unjust than those who prevent the name of Allah    from being mentioned in His mosques and strive toward their destruction.      They will have in the Hereafter a great punishment.” The Noble Quran:    2.114

Over the issue of Sulman Taseer, Pakistani society was splitted into two, where people were in majority who believed that Sulman Taseer was rightly murdered. Although Sulman Taseer was murdered but yet he did not die since it was Muhammadian PBUH Islam, which died on 4th Jan, 2011. Taseer still lives on.
