Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has signed a deal with a Dubai real estate website to target the Indian expat community to invest in a European-style development project she and her husband are developing near Mumbai.
Shetty, who owns an apartment in Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, announced she had teamed up with Dubai brokerage firm Grouphomebuyers.com to launch the Malaga Panvel project at the Indian Property Show in Dubai.
Malaga is a European-style apartment complex across 36 acres of land. It is located near Mumbai and is being developed by Groupco Developers, a new real estate company which Shetty, and her husband Raj Kundra, both own stakes in.
“I have been very fortunate that I can afford certain things today, but deep down I am still a middle class person from Chembur and therefore I can connect with people’s dream of owning a decent house that is affordable,” Shetty said in a statement.
