Sharjah — The Roads and Transport Authority in Sharjah has honoured a Pakistani driver of the Citi Taxi for returning Dh56,000 a female passenger left behind.

Abdulaziz Al Jarwan, Director of the RTA Sharjah for Transport Affairs, on Thursday said Noor Zada Khan, a cabbie with the Citi Taxi, immediately reported about the cash he discovered in the back seat of his cab to the Lost and Found Section of his franchise Company.

“The cabbie behaved in an honest and professional way and he deserved to be honoured and announced as a role model for his colleagues.” The money was then handed over to the passenger who had reported her lost money to the Call Centre of the Roads and Transport Authority in Sharjah at (600525252), he added.

“The details the woman gave — the fare, trip time and destination, were helpful in identifying the said taxi.”Commuters are advised to pay attention to the colour of the taxi and driver’s uniform as every company has a distinct colour. “They should also keep the receipt of the tariff to better identify the taxi and find the items lost in a short time.”.. see more
