The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) on Sunday said that frequent rains and snowfalls this year has benefited farmers cultivating wheat crops and that this year’s farms will harvest better crops compared to the past years.
“The snowfall and frequent rains have left constructive impacts on the crop and agriculture sector,” Minister of MAIL Mohammad Asif Rahimi said.
MAIL stated that in order for the positive growth to continue, the latest equipments and systems must be provided to the farmers. This will also ensure that the thousands of dry lands across the country can be utilized to cultivate crops.
Ghulam Rassoul, a farmer, and a number of other farmers have expressed satisfaction about the increase of crop that they have asked MAIL to assist in maintaining the harvest.
“We ask the Ministry of Agriculture to provide purified seeds and agriculture medicines to the farmers,” Rassoul said. “This year’s wet season has given us good crops.”
MAIL said the rain is the main factor of growth in the agriculture sector, but the ministry vows to seek new markets in order to pave the way for farmers to access to loans.
