Liverpool- The British-Irish band Girls Aloud announced that they are splitting up shortly after coming off stage on the last night of their 10 year anniversary tour.

After the final concert of their anniversary tour Wednesday, a message was posted to their official Twitter account which read: “We now have come to the end of our incredible time together.”

In more detail, the message read,

“Dear Alouders,

we just want to say from the bottom of our hearts Thank you!!

This has been an amazing experience and the perfect chance to say thank you for being on this journey with us through a decade.

It has far exceeded any of our dreams and we hope we are forever your inspiration and reminder that dreams really do glitter!!!

Your love and support will stay with us forever but we have now come to the end of our incredible time together. Love you lots.”

Group member Nadine Coyle tweeted “I love you @GirlsAloud fans so so so so much! You have given me everything! Thank you, thank you, thank you!” The Daily Mirror reports. “All the hairflips, twisted ankles, early mornings, sore throats, tears & facing height fears all to try to give you the show you deserve!

I have seen many of you work so hard at the tour work as hard as us! That is why I cried last night on stage & probably tonight again. Not sad, happy tears.

I cannot thank you enough. I love seeing all your faces. Ok more tears. I love you all forever. Xxxxx NC.”

According to The Telegraph, group member Cheryl Cole took to her Twitter to simply say, “Thank you!!! #entour

Girls Aloud was formed in 2002 on the television show, Popstars: The Rivals.

Their greatest hits album Ten reached #9 on the charts when it was released in December, 2012, BBC News reports.
