A group of Palestinian ladies have turned traditional embroidery into a source of income with a modern twist, World Bulletin reported Monday.
The six sisters, who live in the Gaza Strip, call themselves “The Six Flowers” and started learning the art of embroidery in school.
“We wanted to have our own project and, as sisters, we decided to have our own logo that unites us and represent our work at exhibitions and to the public,” one of the sisters said.
The sisters create both traditional pieces and more modern items, including iPad and laptop covers.
They use Facebook to market their products and take part in exhibitions held in the Gaza Strip.
