His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday attended the graduation ceremony of the new class of cadet officers and of postgraduate students of the Dubai Police Academy.
Among those who attended the ceremony were His Highness Shaikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain; Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Shaikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain; Shaikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqar Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah; Lt.-General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Shaikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Lt.-General Musbeh Rashid Al Fattan, Director of the Office of the UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
A number of dignitaries, heads of government departments and institutions, senior UAE, Arab and foreign police officers, members of the consular corps in Dubai and the guardians of 140 graduates from the UAE and other Arab sisterly countries were also present on the occasion.
Shaikh Mohammed also received Arab and foreign police commanders, and Arab and foreign members of the consular corps, who attended the graduation ceremony of the cadet officers and postgraduate students of the Dubai Police Academy. He welcomed the guests, who expressed their thanks for the warm reception and generous Arab hospitality, lauding the scientific and military standard of the academy. Shaikh Mohammed, accompanied by Major-General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Deputy Chief of the Dubai Police and Major-General Dr Mohammed Ahmed Fahd, Director of the Academy, inspected the parade. He presented special awards to the six outstanding cadet officers of the 20th class.
First Lieutenant Rawdha Al Shamsi, who spoke on behalf of the cadets, expressed gratitude to the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and to Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for their continuous support to the Dubai Police Academy for over 25 years.
He also praised their keenness to ensure that the cadets were provided with high quality education and training, in accordance with the latest international educational standards.
