In every crisis, there is an opportunity. There are chances that coronavirus can create an opportunity for us in the relentless treacherous era. As, it is well said by Rahm Emanuel, an American politician and former mayor of Chicago that:
“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.”
We have evidence that UN (United Nations) came into being after WWII, so it would be not wrong to say that, World War II was sort of crisis and UN establishment was an opportunity for the world.
G20 group have approved a debt relief plan for Pakistan. IMF report shows that Pakistan has $12.731 billion of external debt repayments. G20 group have delayed repayments of Pakistan for one year amid coronavirus pandemic. This opportunity has unburdened Pakistan from debt repayments till June 2021.
Under “Ehsas program” Pakistani government is providing money relief to poor, low wage workers and deserving people. For this they gathered data of deserving from different sectors of Pakistan. This will help them in keeping an eye on further increase or decrease in number of deserving people in future.
Comparative to developed countries, Pakistan is far away from online education. There is no system of distance learning in Pakistan. But this crisis pushes an opportunity of online education in such a developing country. Pakistani government has recently launched “Teleschool and Taleem-ghar” channel, in which free lectures from grade 1 to grade 12 will be delivered on TV. This initiative will promote online education and also become beneficial for knowledge desiring students who don’t afford money for proper school education.
Our healthcare system is appalling. We don’t have enough healthcare facilities e.g. ventilators, PPE (personal protective equipments) etc. There is possibility of improving health and cleanliness sector amid virus pandemic. A government is paying special attention to Street spraying, ventilators repairing, proper hand washing with 70% alcohol containing sanitizers etc.
Coronavirus is blessing in disguise for those who are deprive of basic facilities, but at the same time curse for developing countries e.g. Italy, Spain and America. It’s a time of to take care of others, try to create as much opportunities as we can so that a needy person can take benefit from that.
