KABUL: The US President Barack Obama congratulated President Hamid Karzai on the occasion of 95th Independence Day of Afghanistan.
Obama in a letter sent to President Karzai congratulated him and the entire Afghan nation on the occasion of 95th Independence Day. “This year, millions of Afghan men and women courageously showed their commitment to a peaceful and democratic future for Afghanistan by voting in the historic presidential elections,” the letter read.
President Obama said that the United States was looking forward to conclusion of the electoral process. While reaffirming his country’s continued support for Afghanistan, Obama said that his country was ready to work with new president of the country.
Obama extended his best wishes for a secure and peace future of all Afghans.
Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, also felicitated President Karzai as well as people of Afghanistan on the occasion on 95th Independence Day of Afghanistan.
In a letter sent to President Karzai, Indian PM said, “India attaches the highest importance to further strengthening its multifaceted strategic partnership with Afghanistan.”
Narendra Modi convoyed his best wishes for progress and prosperity of Afghan nation.
