Lawyers occupy a strange place in the hearts of the average person.

We hate them when we are being taken to court for not paying our rent, but love them when they turn up at a disciplinary hearing to save us our job.

Love them or loath them, lawyers could be extinct by 2030 as a new report has predicted that their jobs will be done by ROBOTS.

Experts at Jomati Consultants theorised AI technology is becoming so advanced that several ‘white collar’ jobs are at risk of being taken over by robots within the next 15 years.

Their report said: ‘Eventually each bot would be able to do the work of a dozen low-level associates. They would not get tired. They would not seek advancement. They would not ask for pay rises. Process legal work would rapidly descend in cost.’

They argue that this would drastically reduce the ‘human part of lawyering’ which could in turn result in the ‘structural collapse’ of several law firms… see more
