A family whose car became stuck in the snow after a blizzard in Jordan got a royal rescue they definitely weren’t expecting.
The King of Jordan, Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, was among the helpers who rallied round and pushed the vehicle free from the drift on a street in Amman.
The monarch had been visiting the region to check on the progress of work to clear the roads after the winter storm.
A blanket of thick snow was dumped on Jordan during a huge blizzard on Friday and Saturday – and the country is expecting more bad weather.
A video apparently shot by a passerby was uploaded to YouTube and pictures of the King appeared on the Hashemite Royal Family’s Facebook page.
Jordanian citizens have been sharing the video and images via social media, praising the King’s efforts.
One has to wonder which member of the British Royal Family would roll up their sleeves in a similar situation. Our money’s on Prince Harry.
