KABUL: President Hamid Karzai on third day of his official trip to China travelled to Wuxi city of the country on Tuesday.
Governor of the Wuxi, Huang Lixin briefed President Karzai and his accompanying delegation on history of the city. She said that Wuxi has 7000 years history and is currently known for technology advancements.
“As many as 500 foreign investors have invest $43 billion in the city out of which 9 are Afghan firms who have invested around $100 million in the field of technology,” she added.
She said that President Karzai’s trip to China will further enhance relations between the two countries.
President Karzai said that despite advancements in the realm of technology, Wuxi has safeguarded its historical heritages. The president said that the city was a good example of China’s development, history and environment protection efforts.
President Karzai is on a four-day visit to China to attend the Interaction and Confidence Building in Asia (CICA) summit in Beijing.
