KABUL: President Hamid Karzai met with His Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Tuesday in Beijing, the capital city of China, where the two leaders termed terrorism as a serious threat to the entire region.
The two leaders discussed various issues including ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and war against terrorism. They also shed light on a number of regional issues.
Putin hailed massive turnout of Afghans in the first round of elections and hoped that runoff polls will be also held successfully.
The two leaders also explored ways to enhance economy and military cooperation between the two countries.
The two leaders termed terrorism and extremism a serious threat to the region and stressed that the regional countries should join hands to weed out fundamentalism.
