KABUL: President Hamid Karzai announced one of day of national mourning on Sunday for loss of lives in Badakhshan landslide incident, said a statement issued on Saturday.
President Karzai through a decree announced one day national mourning on Sunday, during which national flag will be half-hoisted.
Thousands of people killed and many more are missing, after a landslide hit north-eastern province of Badakhshan.
The president urged people of Afghanistan, national traders and aid organizations to support landslide hit people.
President Karzai in a statement other day voiced his concerns over loss of lives in Badakhshan landslide incident. The president ordered immediate provision of aids to landslide hit people.
Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, offered his condones to Afghans over loss of lives in the tragic incident.
Singh voiced his deep grief over loss of lives and materials in tragic landslide incident in Badkhshan. He said that his country was ready to provide aid to landslide hit people.
