Recently find the opportunity to meet Tahir Khan which is a known name in KPK and on social media networking sites in the country… We discuss with him many things and we are going to share it with you…..

1- Tell us something about yourself, early life, and schooling?

I belong from Batkhela Malakand KPK, my father retired from the army, after army service, he started working as truck driving, he was only one in a family working and paying for my  6 brothers and sister Education. I get my early education from my hometown Batkhela, because of some financial issues I left my education during my second year and moved to Saudi Arabia in search of a job.

2- When you decided that you should start YouTube and other social media pages?

When I moved to Saudi Arabia and there I noticed that Arab and other nationalities are not treating Pakistan national well.  Many like me we observed that in other countries we do not receive respect as Pakistani that we deserve and especially as Pukhtoon, it become more worse in many countries.  Pakistanis and Specially as Pukhtoons. I often use to think I should do something through which I can change the image of my people and whole Pakistan so at that time  i decided to start using Facebook and try to learn how to use this medium to better show what Pakistan and Pukhtoons are.

3- As you have millions of followers on different social networking sites? which social networking site you think is more effective in your experience?

I personally think that every social networking site is effective if we start using it for positive things, But in my opinion to high light social issues and get the attention of those social issues from concern authorities twitter is best and very effective, although I started late using twitter but, I now often share social issues and my opinion about them through twitter so can concern authorities can see them and solve them and on many issues we get the concern authorities attention and solve them.

4- You also using your platforms for social activities too – how these platforms helping you out for your social activities?

Well… Pakistanis as a whole are very generous when it comes to social issues, people come forward to help and when we started social media to highlight social issues of our area we get a very good response from the public and government as well, Now we use these social pages to raise voice for different issues and we get a very good response from people and from Government authorities on time in many cases.  I believe if we use these social networking sites in a positive way we can solve many issues and we can educate common people on how they can help to solve and manage social issues that we all facing in our communities.

5- Any social projects that you completed with help of Social Media that you want you should share or they are your achievements?

Alhamdulillah, there are dozens of issues and different cases we have solved through our social media platforms with help of our followers,  But we don’t consider them as some kind of big achievements because we believe we can do many things for our area for the city and our country and this is just beginning and we are also learning how best we can help and give back.

6- When you do social work for communities, one can face lots of issues and hurdles, what kind of issues you are facing or you faced in the past ?

Yes, there are many issues and hurdles we faced every day. Mostly we face that people start talking about your team and work we are doing in a negative way. In many cases, people try to demotivate you or doubt the things you do that we have some agenda or we taking some funds, etc or we have some political agenda behind all this – but I strongly believe that when we do good things you always face issues and hurdles and these issues make us more committed to our mission and we ignore such issues and such people who always stop you to doing good things.  Our purpose and mission are very open we want to give back to our area, city, and our country in the best way and in our capacity whatever we have we are doing and we will do it as long as we can.

7-  You managing your all pages yourself or you have a team that helps you to create content and manage all these pages?

No I cannot do all this alone, all credit goes to my team, they are managing all my social networking pages, they help me to generate content and update on pages,  I only use, Twitter & Instagram and do time by time do updates there.

8- Mostly we read in newspapers around the world that Governments are monitoring social media or should control social media? What is your opinion about this?

Although many people will not be agree with me on this issue but, I personally think that Government should monitor social media platforms, especially in 3rd world counties like Pakistan, where people have no tools to check which news is fake and which is not and we all know there is the flood of fake news in every sector and people share that news without checking the facts which can create a very disinformative or ill informative groups in every community and can harm in many cases, individuals or groups.

Yes there should be the debate that how much control or monitoring Government can do that should be debate plus we all know in reality all Governments around the world doing monitoring of these social networking sites and we all know it.

After the weaponization of social media its very important that the Government should have proper Cyber Space Ministry I will suggest to look into all this and as we know the future is digital and people will live ONLINE, so monitoring and security is important and necessary.

9- There is growing debate on mainstream and on social media too that Government should ban some social media networking sites … like Tiktok and YouTube or some games like PUB G, what is your opinion about this?

It’s a childish idea to ban social media or games, Instead of blocking Government should work to make cyber Crime department effective and improve them and equip them with modern tools and training so they can monitor and block that specific content that is against the law of the country and can be harmful to people.

Now Social media around the world providing millions of jobs to people especially younger people and the same in Pakistan thousands of young people earning through YouTube and other social media channels.

The government should implement rules and technologies that detect and prevent illegal and harmful content from the internet and create more opportunities for young people to earn through different channels online.

10- As you are a  celebrity in KPK, how it feels, or how you manage and communicate with your millions of followers, as followers some time comes with lots of expectations?

Well, it is a most difficult thing to manage and communicate with your fans and followers, because every day we received more than 10,000 messages on our social networking sites, Which is impossible to reply them all one by one, But we try to stay in touch with them on Instagram, some time some followers who know me and where I live, they visit my home to meet me and many come from other cities.  but unfortunately many time it happens that my followers visit me from other cities and they did not find me at home because now we often busy in our different social activities every day and  I often stay outside to work in the field- for which I apologize to all who visited me in past and did not find me at home hope they will not mind and ignore it.

11- Young people mostly spend their time on social networking sites, What is your advice for them?

My advice for them, don’t waste your time on social media, first complete your study, after study if you find time then use but do not all the time stay on these social media, EDUCATION is first then something else and I will also suggest that please give some time to book readings too, use social media but also develop habits of book reading because this book reading habits are vanishing from our lives.

12-  Many people ask questions are believe that YouTubers and all these social media influencers earn lots of money from these sites, is it true – can you share your experience of earning online or any suggestion for young people who want to start their career online?

Yes, it’s true. One can easily earn money from websites, YouTube channels, and many other apps. But all this will happened not over the night, I will suggest young people with study learn some skills, like how to create better video content, Designing, Coding, Social Media Marketing, and many more skills through which you can get jobs online, Pakistan is among countries that have a second or third largest freelancing workforce.

If young people learn the right skills with their education everyone can earn online from home and many of these skills are available free online and one can learn easily online.

13- There are lots of YouTubers in KPK and many doing good work what you will suggest for them?

I have only one suggestion for them all work to solve social issues of your area your city whole province and the whole country.

14- What you do in Free time?

Hiking and book reading.

15- What are your Future plans special in the social Work sector for your area?

There are many plans that I will not go in detail but will try best with Allah’s help to gather young people through the country and we all can work to build a better Pakistan and help people in the best way.

16- Your Message for your followers and readers?

Love, Peace & Unity… Set a Goal for yourself, Start it from Today, Workday night to achieve that goal and this world a better place for all.
