Dubai Int’l named world’s third busiest airport in 2015

Dubai International Airport has been named the third busiest airport in the world for total passenger traffic in 2015, according to figures from Airports Council International (ACI).

The airport rose three places from sixth place in 2014, with passenger traffic increasing by 10.7 percent to more than 78 million.

Dubai International was beaten only by Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson and Beijing airports, the figures showed.
Atlanta reported 101.49 million passengers in 2015, up 5.5 percent, while Beijing saw passenger numbers total 89.94 million last year, a rise of 4.4 percent compared to 2014.

DXB’s year-on-year growth was the second fastest after Shanghai while the airport remains the world’s busiest in terms of international passengers, ahead of London-Heathrow.
