Cricket World Cup 2015 trophy tours Afghanistan

Dozens of people including members of the cricket board of Afghanistan gathered in Kabul international airport to welcome the tour of ICC World Cup 2015 trophy to Afghanistan.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) chief executive Dr. Noor Mohammad Murad accompanied the ICC World Cup trophy from Dubai to Kabul international airport.

The trophy was taken to presidential palace after it was welcomed in Kabul international airport.

Dr. Murad said Afghanistan’s qualification to ICC 2015 Cricket World Cup was one of the ambitions of the cricket board of Afghanistan and the Afghan nation.

He said he is hopeful that the Afghan team will have a good performance in the upcoming world cup matches.

Afghanistan will make its maiden appearance at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, which will be held between 14 February and 29 March.

Afghanistan is among the four teams which qualified for the ICC Cricket World 2015. Other teams include Ireland, Scotland and United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Afghan team will travel to Australia and New Zealand along with the other qualifying teams, in a bid to prepare for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
