World creativity and innovative day (WCID) is a day celebrated globally by UN for the promotion of creative and innovative ideas. It aims at empowering the United Nations Sustainable development goals which are also referred as Global Goals.
This day has its roots traced back to 1452. They say a man was born who could possibly do any kind of task and learn any kind of subject and be distinctive in it. He would master all trades and so was titled as a ‘Universal Genius’. 21st April was chosen by the United Nations to mark the day of creativity and let everyone be free to do what their instincts guide them. This day was celebrated officially in 2018 for the very first time.

There is no specific day for you to turn your creativity on but you can do and actually do it in daily life hacks. The specification of this day for innovation and creativity is to just fetch you from your daily routine and whisper in your ear that today you should just think your minds out. Many of us get stuck in the same boring routine whether it is office work or a student going to attend classes of the subject he doesn’t like. This day is only to address your long slept artistic being and bring it back to life.
Creativity is not only limited to the canvases and paints or stuff to do with pages and pen. It can make its pace in small everyday tasks. For example a housewife using hacks or creating healthy shortcuts to manage the house, adding the rich spice in a salty dish and making meal colorful. A teacher using different creative tools for accurate depiction of concept. An architect adding technical tools to make the house more comfortable are all examples of creative and innovate minds.
Developing nations often face a time called ‘Creativity Crisis’. In this span of time the technical and mechanical aspects cuts out the innovative side of workers. When the workers of any profession are limited to the chair work of 9-5 , they have no time left to bring that creative mindset at work and the nation seems to be in a creativity crisis.
For this situation to turn ends, this day of freedom from limitations is celebrated and children are given awareness about the vast professional future possibilities they might hold. The activities this day hold are as appealing as its name. As a result of celebration of this day , many people get to know about their hidden talents and interests. Shockingly as a result of celebrating this day, many resignations are forwarded from the staff to the higher authorities because many people just get to know where their interest lies and decide to give their luck a shot. Professions a switched , children at school are given freedom to think their minds out, Question and then find the answers by opening the unread chapters of their inner self. This day proves to be a life turner for many of the people out there.
