Two more Afghan football players Hashmatullah Barekzai and Arash Hatefi have been invited by Mumbai Football Club (FC) after the two footballers shined in South Asia Football Federation (SAFF) championship.
Mumbai Footbal Club (FC) has already signed contracts with two other Afghan footballers, including the Europe-based Sanjar Ahmadi and Zohib Islam Amiri.
The Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) following a statement on Tuesday said that Mumbai Football Club officials are more interested towards the Afghan footballers after their outstanding performance in SAFF championship.
Hashmatullah Barekzai and Arash Hatefi will also join their team mates to play in I-league for Mumbai Football Club once they reach to an agreement with the Mumbai-based club, Afghan Football Federation said in it’s statement.
According to AFF officials, it will be historic for the football history of Afghanistan if all four Afghan footballers are selected by a foreign league.
The Mumbai Football Club is one of the major teams in the I-League which has invested millions to improve the football sport during the recent years.
Mumbai Football Club (FC) Vice-President, Atul Bagdamia in regards to the club’s agreement with Afghan footballer Sanjar Ahmadi said, “It is a pleasure to have him (Sandjar) for the season. In the company of Amiri, we hope both produce similar efforts respectively as they did for their country in the SAFF Championship and help Mumbai FC’s campaign this season. We look forward to him score as many goals and wish him the best.”
Bilal Arzoo is another Afghan footballer who has played for an Indian football club and former champion of the I-League season.
