Afghanistan National Football team in their first match in the Asia Challenge Cup against the Philippines was a tie on Tuesday night in the Maldives.
The game that was originally schedule d for 8:30 p.m. Kabul time, was delayed an hour because of severe weather.
The game started with Afghanistan playing on the offensive side. The first half of the match ended without either team scoring a goal. In the second half, the Philippines started on the offensive side.
Both teams lost chances of scoring during each half, ending the game in a draw.
Earlier in the Asia Challenge Cup (AFC), Turkmenistan faced Laos with Turkmenistan beating Laos 5-1.
Afghanistan national football team’s second match in the AFC will be against Turkmenistan and Laos on May 24 in the B Group, at about 8:30 p.m. Kabul time.
The final match of the AFC will be held on May 30 with the winner advancing to the Asian Cup. The winner of the tournament will travel to the Asian Nations Championship in 2015 in Australia.
