China’s Prudent Way of Defeating Coronavirus

While surfing the internet just this morning, there was this latest news update that can be seen over all international news websites. This piece of news is enough for the whole world to feel awe over China’s competence.  According to today’s update, China for the first time since January reported zero deaths from Covid-19 the previous day. It is indeed a ray of hope for the rest of the world which is facing devastating scenarios from ongoing pandemic, with even the top world leaders coming under the influence of unmanageable coronavirus.

Although the globally intertwined world has brought another wave of imported cases in mainland China, bringing the national count around 1000; it is noticeable that the country has taken enough measures to halt the death rate effectively. Whether or not one favors the communist approach adopted by China, the effective means adopted by the country in tackling the epidemic are undoubtedly commendable. Even the World Health Organization acknowledged China for establishing a new standard for outbreak response. The moment coronavirus first emerged in Wuhan, the whole Chinese community worked as a single unit and aligned its initial efforts towards the detection of viral outbreak followed by the isolation and whole genome sequencing of the novel strain. Within a very short time period, all necessary information was shared with the world to prepare and forewarn rest of the countries regarding the novel, contagious coronavirus. This was just one aspect of China’s quick response in the days of crises. China’s communist party did its best of efforts in serving common people in the difficult times, the comparison of which cannot be seen among majority of the capitalist nations around the globe.

The members of China’s communist party have worked in the mainstream ever since the outbreak. The party medical officials replaced civilian doctors at the frontline judiciously fulfilling their oath of serving the commoners. China’s state owned industries were all mobilized towards achieving one objective: combating coronavirus outbreak. The state was so inclined towards public safety that two quarantine hospitals were constructed in Wuhan in a period of less than 2 weeks, wholly dedicated for covid-19 patients. Not only this, state governance proved its effectiveness by mobilizing its industrial sector in expanded and extremely quick production of medical supplies at reasonable price rates. The state focused on providing universal healthcare to its people while engaging all industrial, medical and business sectors. Subsidies were introduced for covering all medical expenses of patients. Price increase was strictly prohibited over all items of personal protection equipment including masks, sanitizers, disinfectants etc. Moreover, the state-owned electrical company not only contributed financially towards installment of power facilities in the newly built hospitals, but also announced free power supply for all residents of Hubei during the times of emergency whether or not they were able to pay the electricity bills. Most prominently; massive and free testing was performed for the public to identify both positive and asymptomatic patients of Covid-19, with all efforts focused towards controlling and combating disease’ spread.

Besides some of the appreciable ways mentioned above, China put the safety and well-being of its public as the main priority which has been obvious in recent times. After gaining enough control over the epidemic in its own country, China is now supplying medical equipment, test kits and health related personnel to nations affected by Covid-19. Unquestionably, the rest of the world has much to learn from China’s approach of dealing with times of crises.
