Manchester United are pushing to sign Schalke pair Julian Draxler and Benedikt Howedes in a double deal which could be worth £51m.
United have huge funds to spend when the transfer window re-opens in January and have had scouts at most Schalke matches this season.
And now reports say the Red Devils are pushing to sign both play-maker Draxler and strong centre back Howedes in a double deal to bolster their options.
Draxler, who is rated at £37million, is said to be very close to agreeing a move to Old Trafford, while a major bid will go in for £14million Howedes very soon.
