Vin Diesel has been dropping hints for months that he will be starring in an upcoming Marvel film and let the cat out of the bag in October that he would be playing Groot.
In a video posted to Facebook, he said: ‘Even though my father taught me there are no small roles, only small actors, I have one line in the movie but that doesn’t mean anything.
‘I’m still going to make it the best thign I possibly can even if it means taking Andy Serkis to a whole other level, which is what we want to do with our motion capture.’
Groot is a creature that can control trees and absorb wood to gain power and heal from injuries.
Vin Diesel will be joining Chris Pratt in the lead role as Peter Quill/Star-Lord along with Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Benicio del Toro and John C Reilly.
