How many horses do you see on city streets today? Before German Karl Benz invented the first automobile circa 1885, horse carriages were the primary means of transport for the wealthy. Car technology changed the world in 1900; the smart phone technology revolution is changing the world in 2017.
How Much Do People Text?
“Statistic Brain” calculates that 18,700,000,000 texts are sent around the world, every single day. MBA Online claims that 4,200,000,000 people text. The Pew Research Center claims that 97% of American adults text weekly.
Texting is not just for teenage girls, any longer. It has changed the time expectations for many individuals. For example, eCommerce websites must respond within minutes or someone will simply leave for another website.
Nowadays, most of the top websites will have Live Chat. Attorneys, doctors and bankers have realized that this is a necessity. Text messages have created a faster global economy.
My Phone Makes Money
Smart phones have become the norm for Americans with 64% ownership rates in 2015, according to the Pew Research Center. Smart phones allow you to talk, take photographs and even purchase vape mods, using near field communications (NFC). Finland and Sweden are the primary testing grounds for this cutting-edge NFC technology.
In fact, Sweden envisions a “cashless society” based on smart phone technology. Kiosks have been set up around the country, allowing you to make your payments, digitally. These continual technological changes have lead the global economy into a new stratosphere.
You can also make money, trading binary options with your smart phone. You can pay your taxes. You can keep track of all your expenses with that mobile device in your shirt pocket.
Anytime Anywhere Anyone
No longer will the majority of productivity be found in large factories. Nowadays, small offices, desktops and even a park can be used for productive purposes, due to everywhere smart phones. You can “work from home” or “from the bus” without anyone knowing the difference. You can download and store large amounts of data on your smart phone and if needed, transfer them to a laptop or desktop, easily enough.
Article, picture and video downloads, which took hours before can be completed in seconds today. The World Wide Web is also becoming more efficient. You can go online and sign up with a Cloud Computing service. They will allow you to rent their server space for sending your email, storing your digital documents and responding to customer concerns.
Technology also has created a more democratic playing ground, where anyone can respond to “Breaking News” in an instant. They can take photographs of an incident and send it to the world, using Twitter or Facebook. Any man can decide about “what is real and what is fake.”
“Wow: It Was Photo-Shopped!”
When did you watch a movie and claim that it was completely life-like? Of course, that has always been the goal of Hollywood. Some may have identified “Star Wars,” “Jurassic Park” or “Forrest Gump” as that defining moment. There was no real need to “have a suspension of disbelief.” It looked 100% real.
Plastic surgery, airbrushed photographs and creative photo-shopping have made it difficult to determine if it is live or Memorex. The world has almost become like a cartoon, with television programs selecting the American president and movies predicting the World Series winner.
Anyone can have a Wow moment, every single day. And, people have come to expect that immediate gratification. There is very little leisure time in the modern world. Data centers expect their technicians to be available 24/7/365 and even sleep at the office.
The technology revolution has created a break-neck speed for human existence. Answers can be found faster. Man can receive products and services faster. The technology revolution has catapulted everyone into a “Brave New World.”
