The UAE Ministry of Labour has decided that Saturday, November 2, will be a paid holiday for all workers in private sector companies and institutions in the UAE in observance of the Al Hijri New Year.

Public sector organisations will have holiday on November 3, Sunday.

The announcement was made in a circular issued by Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Labour.

Minister Ghobash took the opportunity to greet the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates; the UAE government and  citizens and expatriates on the occasion.

The minister also wished for further progress and prosperity for the UAE and for further glory for the Islamic and Arab nations.
