Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm haven’t been seen together since the Spice Girls reunion tour in 2008, but all five members were present to launch the group’s new musical today.

The girls looked to have put their reported squabbles behind them as they posed together at London’s St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, the location of their debut video Wannabe – although Victoria was sporting her trademark moody pout.

The girls were joined at the photo call by producer Judy Craymer and Jennifer Saunders, who penned the musical.

At the launch it was revealed that Viva Forever will open at the West End’s Piccadilly Theatre – currently home to Ghost: The Musical – on December 11.

Viva Forever follows the story of a girl named Viva who finds fame through a reality show and will feature many of the group’s biggest hits.

Viva Forever promises to be a ‘contemporary comedy musical about family, friendship and trying to stay true to yourself in a world where everyone craves instant fame and will grab it at any price…’

udy Craymer, who also produced ABBA musical Mamma Mia! said: ‘I’m so thrilled the Spice Girls themselves have shown me so much encouragement and support.

‘This is not a tribute show but the positivity, energy, humour, excitement and friendships that encapsulated the Spice Girls and their songs have inspired the whole creative team, and infuse Viva Forever.’

Members of the group previously revealed their excitement about the launch, with Mel C writing on Twitter this morning: ‘Early start. BIG DAY!!! X’

Mel B ?added: ‘Whoop whoop where my spice biatches at!!! Lovin ALL spice fans always!’

Victoria Beckham decided to express herself through music, posting a link to the song Reunited by Peaches and Herb, while Geri Halliwell was clearly feeling philosophical.

Clearly looking back at the group’s phenomenal success, she posted a picture of a note which read: ‘Look back, realise how far you’ve come.’
