This year’s edition of the Singapore HeritageFest is the largest to date with nine Festival Hubs scattered island-wide and two community-driven Satellite Hubs. From July 20 to 29, Singapore HeritageFest 2012 invites Singaporeans to ‘Recollect, Reflect and Reconnect’ through shared experiences each holds dear to their hearts, as a community.

The nine Festival Hubs at heartland malls around the island will feature travelling exhibitions with themes that resonate with Singaporeans, including sports, films, and traditional toys and games. For example, the Festival Hub at Velocity@Novena Square will celebrate the achievements of local sporting heroes – from sports legends to emerging talents – to gear-up to the upcoming 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics.

The exhibitions at the Festival Hubs will travel around Singapore to public venues including the Jalan Besar Stadium, community centres and schools. throughout the month of August.

For the first time, the Festival is featuring two Satellite Hubs to further the experience. At the Chinatown Visitors Centre, Singaporeans can appreciate how Rediffusion played a part in the daily lives of generations of Singaporeans, while enjoying old recordings from Rediffusion.
