#OscarsSoWhite trends on Twitter as people question where the hell nominations for non-white actors went

Twitter users are calling out the 2016 Oscars for failing to recognise non-white actors and filmmakers.
The hashtag #OscarsSoWhite began trending today as people questioned why some of the biggest movies of the year, featuring black actors, were ignored in the nominations.

This year, every single nominee for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress is white – and there isn’t a single Best Picture with a non-white lead or predominantly non-white cast.

And people on Twitter have highlighted the fact that a white actor, Sylvester Stallone, received a Best Supporting Actor nod for his movie Creed – directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan, who are both black. It was the only nomination the movie received… see more
