A magnitude 7.7 earthquake in Nepal has knocked down buildings in the capital Kathmandu, according to witnesses.

There has been no immediate word of any casualties.

The quake struck 80km (50 miles) east of the central town of Pokhara, close to the capital and was 31km deep, the US Geological Survey said.

Sky News’ India Producer Neville Lazarus said the tremors could be felt as far away as India’s capital New Dehli.

“For about three to four minutes buildings in Dehli experienced tremors and residents rushed out of their buildings,” he said.

“Everything was shaking.”.. see more
