John F. Kennedy’s brain may have been stolen by his brother, a new book has suggested.
James Swanson’s book, End of Days: The Assassination of John F. Kennedy, claims Robert Kennedy may have illegally acquired his brother’s brain in order to hide his medical state, the New York Post said.
It is suggested the former US president may have had an illness or been taking medication before his assassination in 1963.
Not all the evidence from the assassination is at the National Archives. One unique, macabre item from the collection is missing – President Kennedy’s brain,’ the book states.
Swanson writes Mr Kennedy’s brain was kept in a Secret Service cabinet after his autopsy and then transferred to a National Archives locker.
He added: ‘[It was] placed in a secure room designated for the use of JFK’s devoted former secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, while she organised his presidential papers.’
According to the author, the brain, along with other materials used in the autopsy, were discovered missing in October 1966.
He said evidence linked Robert Kennedy to the disappearance of the locker, which contained his brother’s body part.
