A grateful car dealer has said he has a ‘friend for life’ after a kind-hearted taxi driver returned a bag containing £10,000 that he had left in his cab.
Adrian Quinn, 46, said he didn’t usually carry such a large amount of cash, but had been unable to go to a bank as he was running late.
Describing the gut-wrenching moment when he realised he had left the huge sum behind, he said: ‘I was physically sick when I realised what I had done. Losing that money would have meant the end of my business’
But honest cabbie Mohammed Nisar, 55, had the bag at his side when Mr Quinn raced back to Wallsall train station in the West Midlands.
‘I told him “Do you know what’s in the bag? It’s not sandwiches or a newspaper, but £10,000”’, he said.
Mr Quinn, from Hereford, deservedly gave Mr Nisar a cash reward in an envelope, with the words ‘to my best friend in the world’, on the front.
