IT LOOKS like every commuter’s nightmare has come true. Facebook, Instagram and the dating app Tinder are all down. During peak hour. Facebook was first noticed to be offline around 5:15pm AEST. Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, is also down, while Tinder, which relies on Facebook to log in and provide users’ profile information, is offline as well. Facebook’s servers are located in New York, with rumours circulating that the outage could be related to the current blizzard.
Twitter is still up, however, and plenty of people are taking the opportunity to voice their displeasure at its competitors… see more
